100/1 Eibar Produce The Upset Of The Season To Stun Real Madrid

Real Madrid have endured a season to forget so far and things went from bad to worse on Saturday as they suffered a 3-0 defeat that must be up there with the most humiliating in the club's history.

Los Blancos started the season in dreadful fashion and duly sacked Julen Lopetegui after just 138 days in charge. A 5-1 loss to Barcelona meant Lopetegui departed with a dreadful return of six wins from fourteen games during his time with Real.

Santiago Solari stepped in on an interim basis and was installed as manager until the end of the season. It was a change that seemed to work initially as Real went on a four-match winning run in all competitions to raise hopes that the season could be salvaged. Until Saturday.

Solari's men would have been confident heading to Eibar as they had never lost in ten previous encounters with the lowly La Liga outfit, winning eight and drawing two. In fact, Real had won their last four visits to Eibar by a 12-2 aggregate scoreline, so they - and the bookmakers - were expecting a big Real in on Saturday.

Eibar had gone into the match as a 6/1 chance for victory, while Real were a skinny 2/5 for a fifth win on the bounce.

What unfolded was beyond even the wildest imagination of Eibar fans as their team romped to a barely believable 3-0 win at the Ipurua Municipal Stadium.

The 3-0 scoreline was available at odds of 100/1 with bookies before the match! Congratulations to any lucky punter who got on that pre-match!
