It sounds odd to say but the National Football League and the Premier League actually do mirror each other in quite a few ways, and no – it’s not just because they’re both involved in a sport called ‘football’. The mannerisms and actions of the teams in the two organisations are shockingly similar, and we’ve managed to uncover some doppelgangers between the Prem and the NFL.
Some of the reasons behind our selections may come across as a bit odd, but when you really look into the history of these teams you’ll soon realise that they’re virtually twins given the similarities.
Of course with both the Premier League and the NFL gearing up for new seasons in the coming months, the majority will want to shake some of these stereotypes and focus on what they’re in this sport to do: win titles.
New England Patriots & Manchester United
This one shouldn’t come as that much of a surprise, but we’re going to list it anyway. The New England Patriots and Manchester United are, in equal measure, two of the most successful and hated teams in all of sports. We all envy their overwhelmingly convincing triumphs, and they’re as close to sporting supervillains as you’re ever going to get.
Dallas Cowboys & Arsenal
Poor old Arsenal and Dallas. These two franchises both have a long and storied history, which each possessing teams that are considered to be the greatest of all time. Nowadays, however, despite a lot of money and a great deal expectation from the fans they can’t quite re-capture their glory days. It’s a shame, but it’s also quite amusing to mock their relatively large fanbases.
Seattle Seahawks & Manchester City
Whilst some may see the words Manchester City and assume this is going to be based around money, they couldn’t be further from the truth. These two sides have risen up from mediocrity in the last few years to become juggernauts within the main event of their sports, both with passionate fans and an extremely bright future.
Jacksonville Jaguars & Huddersfield Town
The unknowns. Nobody can quite figure out whether or not Huddersfield will make an impact in the Premier League, and the Jaguars are still young enough to warrant that “enigma” tag. One good draft or signing can lead both of these teams into a solid position in their respective leagues, or they could continue to flounder.
Atlanta Falcons & Tottenham Hotspur
Both in the gridiron and professional football you need explosive teams that are going to excite the fans week in and week out; so this little partnership makes quite a lot of sense in that regard. Both the Falcons and Spurs have the squads necessary to go all the way, but they just need to find that killer instinct that takes them over the championship line.
