A Horrific Bloodbath! Gunnar Nelson's Sickening Elbow Splits Forehead Of Alex Oliveira During UFC 231 Win

Last night's UFC 231 was certainly not for those of a squeamish disposition, as Gunnar Nelson produced one of the most sickening elbows in MMA history as he defeated Alex Oliveira in what can only be described as a bloodbath.

Nelson held the initiative as he sat on top of Oliveira in round two of their welterweight clash, continuing to unleash monster blows at his Brazilian opponent, but it was a devilish right elbow that turned the fight in the Icelandic star's favour.

Inflicting the massive blow on Oliveira's forehead, instantly it was apparent the damage Nelson had exacted as blood streamed from the head of Oliveira, but as he bravely tried to put up a fight it was then when Nelson finished his adversary off with a choke hold.

As the octagon started to turn a shade of crimson, Oliveira was forced to tap out and the referee managed to quickly come to his aid as Nelson celebrated his fine win.

Calling the doctor in immediately to check on Oliveira's condition, a towel was placed on his forehead to try to stop the blood pouring out of his wound, but as the slow motion replays show the fight-winning elbow produced a sea of claret to stream from the South American's head in one of the most shocking scenes in the history of the UFC 231 and it is sure to live long in the memory for some.

So, you have been warned, what you are about to witness in the video below is something absolutely gruesome and just shows the sheer bravery of those stepping into the Octagon!
