AC Milan Make Transfer Approach To Barcelona For Suarez

Gennaro Gattuso’s AC Milan currently sit in fifth in the Serie A table and look to be in a good position to go through to the knockout stages of the Europa League.

The Rossoneri are looking ahead to January however with the reopening of the transfer market with news that they have made an inquiry to La Liga champions Barcelona to bring one of their players to the San Siro.

Denis Suarez is the marked man, with Milan interested in acquiring the Spanish midfielder on a loan deal in the New Year after injuries to key players Lucas Biglia and Giacomo Bonaventura, the latter out for the entire season after undergoing knee surgery.

Milan have an absolutely atrocious injury database of late, which also includes centre back pairing Mattia Caldara and Mateo Musacchio.

Suarez is seen as a viable option to travel from Spain to Italy, having been at the Blaugrana for two years but failing to nail down a regular starting spot.

Calciomercato pick up on Sky Italia reports that there has been an ‘initial inquiry’ for the 24-year-old who is under contract at the Nou Camp until the end of the 2019/20 season. He has made 65 appearances for Barca, registering six goals and 10 assists. Suarez has failed to appear in La Liga this season, and has been related to just a late cameo appearance in a Champions League fixture away at PSV Eindhoven, and a start in the Copa del Rey.

His teammate and namesake Luis Suarez is currently out for at least a fortnight after sustaining a knee injury.
