Alisson Who?! Brazilian Keeper Pulls Off Stunning Double Save

The £65M transfer of the Brazilian international goalkeeper Alisson to Liverpool from Roma makes him the most expensive stopper in history.

As hefty as that sum is, the uncertainty around the No.1 spot over the last couple of seasons has been a source of concern for fans of the Merseyside club.

Simon Mignolet’s time in nets was assigned to history after Loris Karius was given preference during the second half of last season.

The previously error-prone German stopper put in some pleasing displays during the Red’s pleasing campaign but a calamitous performance in the Champions League final left him a sitting duck between the Anfield posts - concussion or not.

He’s now set to play second fiddle to the expensive South American arrival in the upcoming season.

While he’s sure to steal his fair share of headlines during his stay in England, one of his countrymen has stolen a bit of his limelight from him.

A clip has been circulated on social media of the Corinthians’ goalkeeper Cassio making an absolutely spectacular double stop in a domestic game in Brazil.

Lining up against their Brasileiro Série A rivals Botafogo in a game that the Sao Paulo giants managed to win 2-0.

Cassio protecting his clean sheet like his very life depended on it will surely not go unnoticed by the Brazilian coaching staff - the 31-year-old one his only international cap last year but has the likes of the aforementioned Alisson and Ederson of Manchester City ahead of him in Tite’s pecking order.
