All systems are go for the biggest fight of a generation, there’s some good fights brewing in the lightweight division and Carl Froch has his eyes on one of the Paul brothers. Here are five boxing stories you might have missed this week...

Everything Agreed For Anthony Joshua Vs Tyson Fury, Says Bob Arum

The biggest fight in British boxing history between heavyweights Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury has been agreed, according to Top Rank promoter Bob Arum.

The battle between the two Brits will see all four belts contested in a heavyweight fight for the first time and Arum says that “all the points have been agreed” on the showdown.

When asked if the fight was on by iFLTV, the American said, "Yeah, as far as I am concerned.

"That's what each side has said. Now, we are scrambling around to get the thing signed and everything.

"But I can say clearly, based on my view on everything, that there are no more issues.”

Vasyl Lomachenko And Devin Haney Exchange War Of Words

The lightweight division is heating up, and two of its biggest stars, Devin Haney and Vasyl Lomachenko, have been at each other’s throats on Twitter this week, with the pair seemingly agreeing to meet at the end of April/beginning of May.

Haney is one of the brightest talents in boxing but is in dire need of a top-quality dance partner and Lomachenko, one of the finest fighters in modern history, would certainly fit that bill. It could be the perfect fight for the Ukrainian too, who needs to bounce back after his defeat to Teofimo Lopez last year and a win over Haney would show he still means business at 135lbs.

Carl Froch “Wishes” Jake Paul Would Call Him Out

It’s been a busy week for YouTuber Jake Paul, having called out professional boxers Tommy Fury and Canelo for fights, but one man who would love to step in the ring with the ‘Problem Child’ is former middleweight champion Carl Froch - just for the easy pay day.

Speaking to iFLTV, Froch said, "I wish he'd call me out. Easy money. All them YouTubers are easy money, let's be honest. Come on, they can't fight… Jake Paul, Logan Paul, I have got absolutely no interest unless they wanna call me out and I'll go and smash them all to bits."

For a long time it looked like Ryan Garcia would be the man to take on Manny Pacquiao next but instead it looks like it will be another Garcia entirely who will step into the opposite corner of the Filipino fighting legend.

Former four-division titleholder Mikey Garcia, a man who’s often been linked with this fight, says that he is finally close to making a deal with Pac-Man over a fight in the spring.

“We’re finalizing all the details. We hope to get an exact date in the next few days, the location and everything. We’re trying to get everything done for May,” Garcia told Jo Ankier. “It’s been in the works for a long time, it’s been in the works for a few years. More detail in the last year, right before COVID happened. But now in the last few weeks, a month or so, we’ve been getting very close to finalizing this.”

Winner Of Jamel Herring Vs Carl Frampton To Face Shakur Stevenson Next

The winner of Jamel Herring vs Carl Frampton on April 3rd in Dubai will face an immediate mandatory defence of the WBO super-featherweight title against the highly-rated former Olympian Shakur Stevenson, according to Bob Arum and should Frampton win the defence could be hosted at a stadium in Northern Ireland.

Speaking about a potential fight with Stevenson last month, Frampton claimed, "I have it on good authority that Shakur Stevenson would come to Belfast to fight me if I do beat Jamel.

“That's a huge fight. That could be the sign-off - imagine beating Shakur Stevenson at Belfast.”
