Amazing Footage Shows Jogger Narrowly Avoiding Terrible Horse Racing Accident At Navan

Horse racing can be a dangerous game for those involved in a contest but there was almost a terrible incident at Navan on Sunday with someone who had no idea the racing was even going on!

Jockeys tend to use the racecourse to have a jog with either fitness in mind or in a an effort to shed the last few pounds of weight needed ahead of a race, but this runner almost paid a terrible price.

Navan was hosting an important jumps card on Sunday and some remarkable footage has emerged over the weekend of the man narrowly avoiding a potentially catastrophic accident. The person was seen running along the race track completely unaware that there was a novice hurdle going on and about to come thundering past.

The person on the footage only realised at the last second that there was group of horses close behind and managed to jump out of the way at the last moment, but it was a very close shave to say the least.

It looks as though the rogue runner had headphones in and was unaware of what was going on, but he can count himself very lucky to have avoided serious injury in this instance.

The jockeys in the race will have been relieved to have swerved the worrying situation but it is certainly a reminder that the sport of kings can be dangerous place for all those close to the track on a race day.

Thankfully, all involved emerged unscathed and we can put this down to a narrow miss.
