Tottenham’s new stadium is edging closer to being completed although we have not yet had any confirmation that it will be finished before the end of the current campaign. We have seen sneak peaks, beer being delivered and punters have been given a tour of the ground, but we have stumbled upon a video that perfectly encapsulates just how much progress Spurs have made.
In fact, Haringey Council have published a document that suggests a test event could be taking place around March 16th and is regarding the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium Traffic Management Zone and ‘moving traffic and entry restrictions on event days’.
Spurs need to hold two successful test events to get their final safety certificate, with the final weekends in March thought to be the likely dates for these events. This means the new stadium could have the all-clear to open next month and it could be open for the Brighton game on April 7th. However, that fixture could be moved if Brighton progress in the FA Cup.
There could be a legends match used as one of the test events along with an academy game or even a Ladies match. The club are advertising for jobs at the new stadium and it all looks geared to the stadium opening within the next few months.
There are surely now just the final touches being put on the new stadium and this is now an incredibly exciting time for Spurs’ fans who saw their side cruise into the last eight of the Champions League this week.
They have seen their stadium rise up from nothing and it does now look truly spectacular.
