On this Tuesday we’ve got four meeting across the U.K and Ireland, with jumps meetings from Wetherby, Taunton and Clonmel being supplemented by an all-weather affair this evening at Wolverhampton. It’s to the nighttime meeting that we’ll be going for our daily tip.
The first race on their card this evening will be the 17:40 - Betway Casino Amateur Riders' Handicap, a Class 6 affair over 12 furlongs.
Frozon runs for Harriet Bethell and should be well at home in his surroundings.
This five-year-old gelding won twice in similar events last year off - he’s handicapped just three pounds higher this evening than he was for the second of those two wins.
He spent an unsuccessful time over hurdles when switching to this yard from Brian Ellison’s but has returned to the all-weather game lately with a couple of passable efforts.
He’s slipping down the handicap a touch and with race fitness on his side, he can go well.
Jockey Simon Walker is the man to be with in these amateur events. He’s simply a class above in this company and his partnership with the selection is another case for him having a strong chance.
Compatriot, who will be racing on his first start for Olly Murphy, is among the other more likelier types but at the prices we’re willing to swerve him.
But regardless at a price of 7/1 at the time of writing, we’re willing to take a chance on Walker guiding Frozon home in the first three at the very least.
