Another Clanger From Loris Karius Sends Liverpool Fans On Social Media Loopy

It's been a tough five months for Loris Karius. The former Liverpool keeper suffered a nightmare of epic proportions in the Champions League final last May, at fault for two of the three goals as Real Madrid won the match 3-1, which signalled the beginning of the end of his career at Anfield.

The German was once again in the spotlight during pre-season for Liverpool and after a succession of errors plus the arrival of Alisson from Roma, Karius left for Besiktas on loan for the 2017/18 season.

Despite being a hit with the locals, and in particular the local ladies Karius suffered another humiliating clanger in the Malmo v Besiktas Europa League clash in Sweden on Thursday night. The home side took the lead through the freak goal when a cross was whipped in fron the right, taking the slightest deflection which was enough to loop over Karius who barely made any effort to keep the ball out.

Whether the German thought it was going over the bar or it was a brain freeze, either way, the 25 year old can add another blooper to the showreel.

Liverpool fans took to Twitter and although there was a general feeling of sympathy from Reds fans, some were less sympathetic:

XXXX sake Karius. Some things never change #LFC

What has Karius done now?

Karius at it again. Wish he wasn’t on loan

The game finished 2-0 to Malmo and if we were Loris Karius, we'd switch the phone off on the way back home to Turkey!
