British middleweight Michael ‘Rocky’ Fielding defends his WBA belt against the significant threat posed by Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez early on Sunday morning at Madison Square Garden, but it might well be worth keeping an eye on what goes on just outside the ring in the famed New York City venue.

Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua will be ringside working for the DAZN streaming service that’s broadcasting the fight, and a rival in his division with whom he’s had a scrape before will be there too.

New York is the hometown of the Brooklyn native and undefeated fighter Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller, and he’s reportedly planning on being there on night.

Miller has ruffled the feathers of the Englishman before, specifically at the press conference under the banner DAZN at New York, which saw a number of big-name fighters going through their media duties together.

But while AJ was studiously going through his duties ahead of his fight with the Russian Alexander Povetkin, with the help of his promoter Eddie Hearn, who fronts the company, Miller made an interruption.

“Don’t get it twisted, I’m gonna whoop your ass,” he says.

That was less than well received by the belt-holder, “Shut up. Shut the f*** up,” Joshua tells him, among a few other things, in response.

AJ and his promoter Hearn have never missed out on a chance for a bit of free fight-building and a ringside hubbub could build up a potential future bout with Millar nicely, so watch out for that.

It could prove a nice little side story on the night.
