Antoine Griezmann Scores Screamer Of An Overhead Kick To Save Atletico Madrid
21:27, 22 Nov 2017

Atletico Madrid needed a goal and when they were at their most desperate their main man stood up to the plate. There was a ball played through to Ángel Correa who did brilliantly to cross the ball over to Antoine Griezmann who scored an absolute stunner of a goal.

This is a must-win game for Atletico as they need to gain maximum points to keep their qualification hopes alive. The game had been cagey up until that point but Atletico Madrid are now playing with all the confidence in the world in the closest group of them all.

Atleti are not out of the woods yet, however, having drawn seven of their last nine games in all competitions. A draw would see last years semi-finalists go out at the group stage so they need to hold on to secure their place in the last 16.

This was the little Frenchman’s second goal in the Champions League this season but it could turn out to be one of the most important that he scores in his whole career.

If the Spanish giants hold on it would leave the group wide open heading into the final group game. As things stand, Chelsea lead the group on 10 points, Atleti are on nine with Roma in third place on eight.
