The Arkle Chase at the Cheltenham Festival 2019 is shaping up to be a wide open renewal this season with a number of potential winners in the ante-post market.
Lalor is the horse who currently sits top of the list for the betting in March and punters might get one last chance to see the exciting horse this weekend before the Festival after he received an entry for the Lightning Novices' Chase at Doncaster.
The Kaley Woollacott trained horse produced a stunning display back in November when wining at Cheltenham to mark himself out as one of the potential stars of the season and that ensures he has been closely followed since.
Things didn't quite go to plan next time out when the horse was beaten at Sandown behind Dynamite Dollars and the pair could re-oppose here in what could be one of the key trial races of the season at the Yorkshire track.
This is by no means a two horse race though with a host of classy animals entered at the current stage including Knocknanuss, who ran an excellent race at Plumpton last time out for Gary Moore.
Also engaged at the current stage for the Doncaster race is the fast improving Glen Forsa for Mick Channon and the classy Ravenhill Road, who could take his chance for local trainer Brian Ellison.
The Grade 2 race can often provide an excellent winner with My Will, Vaniteux and Sceau Royal just three of the names on the recent roll of honour of the race. All eyes will be on Lalor and Dynamite Dollars if they rematch this weekend with both in the mix for the Arkle in March and connections will be desperate for their stars to make a positive step in their careers.
