Arsenal slumped to their third defeat in six Premier League matches after losing out to West Ham in Saturday’s London derby.
Declan Rice bagged the only goal of the game to propel the Hammers up to 8th in the table, while the loss keeps Arsenal three points adrift of the top-four, while 6th-placed Man Utd can draw level with Unai Emery’s men on 41 points should they topple Tottenham tomorrow.
Gunners fans have been left crushed at the rotten run of form; prior to December’s defeat to Southampton the club had been enjoying a 14 game unbeaten league run. With games against Chelsea and Man City in the next few weeks, the capital club could well lose further ground in the race for the Champions League spots.
Arsenal fans have now taken to twitter - see below - to urge the club to get active in the January transfer market, with two players in particular sounded out.
Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez has been hotly linked with a loan switch to North London, and those rumours will only intensify following Saturday’s defeat to West Ham. The former Europa League winner played under Emery at Sevilla, and now the duo could be set to reunite in England.
Another possible incoming player is Yannick Carrasco, the former Atletico Madrid winger, who is the club’s reported top target. He’s currently plying his trade over in China with Dalian Yifang, and is likely to demand a big salary, with talkSPORT stating that he wants £3000,000 a week.
Can Arsenal persuade either player to come over to the Emirate? A number of supporters certainly hope so!
