After nearly a year off, Arsene Wenger is reportedly contemplating a return to management.
The former Arsenal manager has four job offers to pick from according to today's Times but he won't be coming back to the Premier League "out of respect" for the club where he spent 22 years.
Wenger has been linked with several posts since the summer including Fulham, Real Madrid and Manchester United.
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in Wenger becoming their director of football while he is also wanted by two other European teams as well as an international team.
The Times suggests that while Wenger has no need to prove himself to anyone he misses the everyday involvement of being at a football club. Neither is he motivated by money having received a handsome pay-off from Arsenal.
If the argument stands that Wenger misses the day-to-day grind, then a club job rather than an international post will hold more appeal.
Since leaving Arsenal, Wenger has popped up as a pundit on TV from time to time but does not give the appearance of a manager who is desperate to return to management. He has allowed his replacement Unai Emery to get on with the job in hand by staying away from the Emirates Stadium.
Emery has been frustrated in the transfer market this season, making many of the same remarks that Wenger made about being frustrated by the lack of funds available to him as he looks to reignite a season which started so promisingly.
