Ask The Fans: Can Crystal Palace Move Into The Premier League Top Ten?

We caught up with @CPFC_XTRA to ask them about their Premier League predictions

As the new Premier League season creeps ever closer, we’ve decided to check in with fans of all 20 clubs to gauge their opinions on everything from their expectations to the league’s winners and losers.

In this edition we catch up with @CPFC_XTRA to ask them about Crystal Palace’s key men and their Premier League predictions.

Defensive midfielder Cheick Doucoure is Palace’s only marquee signing so far this summer. The 22-year-old made 34 appearances last season for RC Lens, contributing with a goal and four assists. The loss of Conor Gallagher back to parent club Chelsea will be a huge setback for Patrick Vieira’s men who impressed many last season. Wilfried Zaha will again be a key outlet for goals.

Palace are 9/4 to finish in the top half with Betfred, and a huge 70/1 to win their first three games.

What are your expectations for the season ahead and where do you think you will finish in the league?

Following the progress made last season under Patrick Vieira and the new and rumoured additions to the squad, I see Palace continuing where we left off last season and maintaining a mid-table finish. A cup run would be nice after the disappointment of the FA Cup semi-final last season. I think we will finish 10th.

Which player do you think will have the best season and why?

Cheick Doucouré - You only have to look at his stats amongst Ligue 1 midfielders last season (tackles won, interceptions, progressive passes) to see how highly talented he is. I see him transitioning well to the Premier League and becoming the pinnacle of our midfield.

Which player do you think will surprise other fans/pundits this season and why?

Jeffrey Schlupp. This might not be an obvious choice, but the departure of Cheikhou Kouyaté will open up more time for Schlupp. His ability to slot into different positions in the team and do the dirty work often sees him overlooked.

Which team will win the league?

Manchester City.

Which three teams will be relegated?

Nottingham Forest, Fulham and Bournemouth.
