As the Premier League season edges ever closer we’ve decided to check in with the fans of all 20 clubs to gauge their opinions on everything from their expectations for their own club to surprise packages, this season's winners and losers.

In this edition, we caught up with @ToonPolls to get their thoughts on the season ahead and here’s what they had to say.

Sven Botman is a welcome addition to the defence and will undoubtedly come under plenty of scrutiny for his performances in the opening few weeks, while the likes of Bruno Guimaraes, Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson will be spearheading the attack. The Magpies will definitely be a team to look out for in the upcoming season.

Without having to deal with the prospect of relegation, Newcastle fans can finally start to look up the table for their competitors rather than below them. While finishing seventh is a huge ask, it’s not unthinkable that Eddie Howe’s men could find themselves there come the end of next year.

What are your expectations for the season ahead and where do you think you’ll finish in the league?

Not having to worry about the threat of relegation will be a luxury to be honest. I would be delighted if we were challenging in the top half of the table. I think we’ll finish 7th.

Which player do you think will have the best season and why?

I think Bruno Guimaraes is set to have a superb season. He was instrumental in our upturn during the second half of last season. His performances were incredible considering he was new to the league. If he carries this form into the new season, he will be a force to be reckoned with.

Which player do you think will surprise other fans/pundits this season and why?

I think Sven Botman will be the surprise package in the Premier League this season. He’s highly thought of across Europe but is untested in England. He has all the physical characteristics to cope with the demands of the Premier League and will add some much needed steel to Newcastle’s defence.

Which team will win the league?

I would love nothing more than to be sat here in 3-4 years time saying Newcastle United, but for now I can’t look past Man City. With the addition of Erling Haaland, I think they will be frightening. Only Liverpool have the ability to push them close but I think Man City will successfully defend their crown.

Which three teams will be relegated?

Newly promoted teams always struggle to stay up and this year will be no different. However, I think of the three, Bournemouth might just have enough. I would be worried if I was a Leeds fan with losing Raphina and Phillips, and I think they’ll struggle. However, I think it’ll be Brentford who suffer second season syndrome so I’ll go for Fulham, Forest and Brentford.

Newcastle are 5/2 to finish in the top six with Betfred*
