Tammy Abraham has been sensational for Aston Villa this season, scoring 14 goals in the Championship, but the striker - on-loan for Chelsea - could be set to leave the club in January in order to play Premier League football again.
The Sun report that Abraham could be set to activate a recall option on his loan from Chelsea and then look to pursue another loan move to a Premier League club for the second half of the season.
21-year-old Abraham has produced some sensational performances under Dean Smith in recent months, but Villa have struggled for any sort of consistency and head into 2019 in ninth position in the Championship, 14 points behind second tier leaders Leeds United.
If Abraham were to leave the club in January then it will be a monstrous blow to Smith's quest for promotion, as while they are adrift of the top few in the table they are only five points off the play-offs, so if Abraham left then Smith will need to quickly move into the transfer market to fill the void of Abraham's goals - and that will certainly not be an easy task to find a free-flowing frontman.
News of Abraham's possible availability will excite a host of Premier League clubs, as while he is unlikely to figure at Chelsea this season the likes of Bournemouth, Fulham, Huddersfield Town and Brighton & Hove Albion are all reportedly interested in adding them to their squads in the winter, and Abraham would relish a switch to all four as he looks to get back into the thoughts of Gareth Southgate and the England national team.
