Real Madrid have steamed into the battle to sign PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot and could go head-to-head with fierce rivals Barcelona in a battle for his signature. The 23-year-old is out of contract next summer which could force the French champions into selling one of their prize assets before the transfer window shuts at the end of August, so they at least get some cash for his services.
Rabiot has made a whopping 208 appearances for PSG and won four league titles with the club, despite his young age. This blend of potential and experience could make him the perfect fit for both Barcelona and Real Madrid, two clubs looking to strengthen their midfield as they do battle for the La Liga title once again.
Having brought in Arturo Vidal for the departed Paulinho and tied Sergio Busquets down to a new deal, Barca are still looking for that strength in depth as they look to compete for the Champions League once again. Don Balon, however, have reported that Los Blancos are wanting to jump in front of Barca and complete the signing of the Frenchman for around €50m.
Serie A clubs AC Milan, Inter & Juventus had all been linked to the player by Calciomercato but it seems Real Madrid are now at the front of the queue to sign this talented youngster. With Luka Modric now 32-years-old, Rabiot could be a huge part of Real Madrid’s future in the centre of midfield. Whoever signs this precocious talent will have an excellent player for the future in their ranks.
