Barcelona Top 3 Transfer Targets: Which Players Are Heading To The Camp Nou In January?

The January transfer window is whirring into action and Barcelona look set to get a bit of business done as the La Liga giants bid to maintain their push for silverware on all fronts.

The Spanish league leaders have been impressive so far this season and Barca boss Ernesto Valverde won't be disappointed to see that his club have been linked with several top players this month. We take a look at three of their most likely targets...

Frenkie de Jong (Ajax)
Frenkie de Jong has been one of the most sought after young talents in Europe during the past twelve months and Barcelona appear to have won the race for his signature, if reports are to be believed. According to SportBild (via Sky Sports), Barca have agreed a five-year contract with the midfielder who has scored 14 goals and laid on 21 assists in 110 appearances for Ajax.

Bookmakers go 7/1 for the 21-year-old to join Barca in January, although a transfer in the summer might be more likely as Ajax are holding out for £75m for De Jong, although the La Liga outfit are holding firm with their offer of £60m.

Jean-Clair Todibo (Toulouse)
Barcelona have suffered some big injuries to key defenders of late and they might tread a familiar path by dipping into Ligue 1 for a new defensive signing. They have been linked with Manchester United target Kalidou Koulibaly but Serie A side Napoli aren't willing to sell the player until the summer and apparently want £120m! A cheaper alternative in France might be available sooner...

Barca signed Samuel Umtiti from Lyon in June 2016 and he has been colossal since moving to the Camp Nou, while they also signed the hot prospect Clement Lenglet from Nancy. Their latest target is reportedly Jean-Clair Todibo of Toulouse.

According to El Mundo Deportivo (via Sports Mole), Barcelona are interested in the 19-year-old defender. The player might be available for a fee (believed to be €3-4m) this month as Toulouse risk losing Todibo for free when his contract expires at the end of the season, with the player able to agree a pre-contract agreement this month for a free transfer move in the summer.

Adrien Rabiot (PSG)
Finally, Adrien Rabiot has reportedly snubbed Tottenham because they are "beneath" his level and Barcelona are the 7/4 favourites to sign him before the January transfer window closes.

The Frenchman is available for as little as €10m this month as Paris Saint-Germain are reluctant to let him leave for nothing when his contract runs out at the end of this campaign.
