The clock is about to stop but there’s still just enough time for Barcelona to sort out a few more deals on transfer deadline day.

Ernesto Valverde wants to work with a small squad and though it’s been trimmed by sales already, there are at least another three players that might have new employers before the end of the day is out.

Andre Gomes

A player who, when signed, looked like he would command the Barcelona midfield for years to come. Getting him from under the noses of Real Madrid was seen as something of a coup at the time, but unfortunately for the Portuguese, he’s never been able to adapt.

With his confidence at an all-time low, Gomes needs games, and both Everton and West Ham appear to want to offer him an outlet, more than likely on loan with an option to buy.

Currently injured, there’ll be a way to construct a deal if all parties are agreeable.

Yerry Mina

The Catalans have really pulled a rabbit out of the hat with this one, and they’ll thank their lucky stars that the giant Colombian managed to score three goals for his country in the World Cup.

Though he’s not really been given the chance to impress, to at least double, if not treble their money is too good an offer to turn down, should it materialise.

The potential buying club are Everton, again, not content with already having taken Lucas Digne from Barca, and registering a strong interest in Gomes.

Marco Silva clearly wants to bolster his squad and if he passes a medical that is believed to be taking place in Barcelona on Thursday, then he could be unveiled later in the evening or on Friday morning in Merseyside.

Ousmane Dembele

This is the most contentious of the three potential moves, given that the player himself has already come out and said that he has no intention of leaving Barcelona.

The club have made no comment on the rumours that Arsenal are interesting in taking the rapid Frenchman on a season-long loan, which suggests that there could be some truth in it.

If a switch for Paul Pogba is on the cards (La Liga’s transfer window has three weeks to run), then funds need to be freed up… and you never say never in football!

Paco Alcacer and Rafinha could also benefit from leaving the Camp Nou, but there’ve been no offers for the former and the latter has given Ernesto Valverde a headache with his great form in pre-season.
