Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Senegalese attacker Sadio Mane from Liverpool in a deal worth around £35 million.
The 30-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the German champions after having spent the last six years at Anfield. Many Liverpool fans are sad to see Mane leave as he quickly developed into a popular figure on Merseyside and was seen as one of the faces of the club’s recent resurgence Jurgen Klopp.

In a club statement, Bayern president Herbert Hainer said: "Sadio Mane is a global star, who underlines the appeal of FC Bayern and will increase the attractiveness of the Bundesliga as a whole. Fans come to the stadiums to see such players. It's great that our board led by Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidžić have managed to sign a player like Sadio Mane for FC Bayern."
Mane was one of the first key signings that Klopp made for the Reds and he went on to be a roaring success, helping the club win a Champions League and a maiden Premier League title as well as a League Cup and FA Cup last term. Mane also led Senegal to their first ever Africa Cup of Nations title earlier this year and is a serious contender for the 2022 Ballon d’Or.
One of Mane’s best traits as a player is his willingness but also his ability to adapt and thrive in multiple positions. When he first joined Liverpool he was deployed on the right, before Mohamed Salah's arrival saw him move to the left. Then when Luis Diaz was acquired in January 2022 he was regularly deployed through the middle - which could make him an ideal replacement for wantaway Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski.
