Chelsea's teenage sensation Callum Hudson-Odoi is at the middle of the three-way tussle for his services.
The winger is wanted by Borussia Dortmund according to Mail Lonliwho were reportedly ready to offer Christian Pulisic as part of a swap deal for the player who finds himself on the fringes of Maurizio Sarri's plans at Stamford Bridge.
This morning however it appears that Bayern Munich are preparing to thwart Dortmund's plans by offering a cash deal for the player worth in the region of £13million when the transfer window opens again next month reports Mail Online.
A product of Chelsea's Academy, Hudson-Odoi is highly rated and he is apparently interested in a move to Germany given the success of other young English talents such as Reiss Nelson and Jadon Sancho. Last season, Reece Oxford and Ademola Lookman enjoyed successful loan spells with Borussia Monchengladbach and Red Bull Leipzig respectively.
Chelsea - having been stung by allowing players to leave and flourish in the past - will insert a buy-back clause in any future deal.
Hudson-Odoi has made just one Premier League appearance for the Blues this season though has featured four times in Cup competitions. The player is currently struggling with a hamstring injury which will keep him out of Sarri's plans for around a fortnight.
While a cash offer may appear tempting for Chelsea as they look to strengthen themselves in January, the supposed swap deal involving the highly-rated American international Pulisic could prove a more attractive option.
Such a move even six months ago would have been unthinkable but Pulisic is no longer the first pick on the Dortmund teamsheet and he has made it known he'd be open to a potential move to guarantee regular first team football.
