Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will attempt to bounce back from a disappointing loss against the Champions Manchester City last time when they travel to Molineux for an FA Cup tie with Wolves.
The Premier League table-toppers will come into the Third Round tie with the memories of a cosy 2-0 win in league competition against their hosts last month, at this same ground, fresh in the memory.
There can be no room for complacency, though, in the mind of their German coach, who is keen to see his side focus on the task at hand in the Black Country this evening.
“How can we speak in the first round of the FA Cup about winning it? It's a very important competition but we have to make sure we can play with the right intensity,” Klopp said.
There’s reason for them to be on their toes ahead of their trip, too, when looking down the list of the biggest FA Cup shocks over the past decade or so.
The Reds feature three times in the list of the eleven biggest-priced upsets in the competition over that time period.
A loss to Barnsley in 2008, where the Tykes ran out winners at (14/1), was the first, with losses to tonight’s opponents (10/1) and nearby West Brom (16/1) also coming in the past two years.
It may not be quite the same sort of surprise if Nuno Espirito Santo’s men turned over their visitors this Monday evening, with the hosts priced up at around the (29/10) to win in 90 minutes.
