Borussia Dortmund Ready To Launch Stunning Player-Plus-Cash Bid For Crystal Palace Forward

Crystal Palace fans will be desperate for the club to hold on to star player Wilfried Zaha this summer but their talisman is the subject of interest from German side Borussia Dortmund, who are proposing a player-plus-cash deal.

Dortmund may have to pay as much as €30m for the services of Zaha and they are willing to send Andre Schurrle to Selhurst Park as part of an exchange deal, according to Bild. Crystal Palace have been linked with the signing of Schurrle several times already this summer and Dortmund are ready to test the resolve of the Eagles by offering him to the Premier League side, despite his indifferent recent form.

Whether it would be a fair swap is open to debate.

Zaha scored nine goals and laid on five assists in 25 Premier League appearances last season as the 25-year-old virtually kept Roy Hodgson's men in the top-flight single-handedly.

The London outfit would be losing their talisman and gaining Schurrle, who scored three goals and provided just six assists in 26 appearances for Dortmund in all competitions last season. Those woeful returns are part of a wider malaise that culminated in the 27-year-old being left out of Joachim Low's final 23-man Germany squad for the 2018 World Cup.

In fact, Schurrle hasn't played for Germany since March 2017 due to a disappointing run of form and he could be set for a return to the Premier League as he searches for a change in fortunes.

The winger left Chelsea in January 2015 and enjoyed an exceptional 18 months with Wolfsburg, before Dortmund signed him in July 2016. The past two years at Signal Iduna Park certainly haven't gone to plan though and he could be set for a move to Selhurst Park.

It is doubtful whether Crystal Palace fans would be happy about losing their talisman and signing Schurrle though...
