It’s now less than a month to go until James DeGale and Chris Eubank Jr go head-to-head in an all-British blockbuster bout at The O2 on Saturday 23 February.

The IBO super-middleweight championship contest pits together two fighters with a clear dislike for one another; a former two-Time IBF World Super-Middleweight Champion in DeGale, and Eubank, who used to hold the IBO World Super-Middleweight belt.

With the fight drawing rapidly closer, DeGale has been meticulously watching back Eubank's fight, including his opponent’s defeat to George Groves - who also beat DeGale in 2011 - a year ago.

It’s fair to say from the below video that DeGale was left less far from impressed by Eubank’s performance in the unanimous decision defeat in Manchester last February.

“He couldn’t get in range with his shots, he was the smaller man, he got out hustled. His feet were terrible. Groves was the better man.

“He rushes in. When he gets desperate, he gets worse.

“I’ll be honest, when I was watching the fight I was half cheering for Groves. I wanted him to win. I can’t stand Chris Eubank. This guy is a ****.”

DeGale heads into the fight on the back of wins over Caleb Truax, avenging a loss against the America, and Colombian Fidel Munoz who he knocked out back in his last bout in September, meaning his record now stands at 25 wins from 28 fights (one draw, two defeats).

“I know in boxing you need to have confidence but Eubank is Britain’s biggest deluded boxer,” continued DeGale.

“This geezer still thinks he beat Groves and Billy Joe Saunders. It’s crazy.

“He’s been shown levels. He can probably mix it with the top boys, but he can’t beat the top boys.

“Boxing wise, skills wise, technique wise, he’s not on my level.

“It’s my skill against his skill. My heart against his heart. And there’s only one winner.”

It’s actually Eubank who heads into the fight as the odds-on favourite to come out on top, while DeGale can be backed at 6/5 to get the win.
