Bundesliga Bargain Or Aston Villa Star? The Only Signing Liverpool Need To Make This Summer

There are still plenty of twists and turns in the Premier League season to go as Liverpool continue to battle it out for the title, but they will no doubt be keeping an eye on potential transfer targets and a Bundesliga star could be available this summer.

According to Bild, Bayer Leverkusen's German sensation Julian Brandt has a £22m release clause in his contract that can be activated this summer and he would be an ideal fit for Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.

Klopp's fellow countryman is getting better with each passing year and the 22-year-old looks primed to take European football by storm following another impressive season for Bayer - Brandt has scored seven goals and laid on ten assists in 32 appearances in all competitions, including three goals and four assists in six Bundesliga games in 2019.

Brandt has been on fire of late and he would be a welcome addition to the Liverpool squad as they look to add a bit of depth to their squad and support to their attacking triumvirate of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Comfortable playing on the left side or through the middle of the attack, Brandt has been capped 23 times by Germany, scoring two goals, and won a silver medal with the national side at the 2016 Olympics before appearing at his maiden World Cup last summer.

It has been a swift upward trajectory for the former Wolfsburg youth graduate, who signed for Bayer Leverkusen for €350,000 in January 2014 and a move to the Premier League could be the next logical step.

The release clause of £22m looks like an absolute bargain, especially when you consider how much Aston Villa would likely charge for someone like Jack Grealish, a 23-year-old who has produced far less in his brief career to date.
