Burnley Backed To Make It Five Wins On The Spin In Our Super 6 Predictions
14:05, 13 Apr 2018

The season is rapidly drawing to a close with only a handful of matches remaining across the top-4 tiers of English football. Clubs are either fighting it out for titles, promotion, survival, or merely pride, with the 12 teams sandwiched in this article featuring in one of the aforementioned categories.

It’s a tricky week in the latest edition of Super 6 but we’ve hurled in our predictions below!

Burnley v Leicester

Burnley are bang in form after taking maximum points from their last four games against Everton, West Ham, West Brom and Watford, and we fully expect Sean Dyche’s dynamos to extend their winning run to five on the spin when they welcome Leicester to Turf Moor. The Foxes have struggled for consistency of late, making it difficult to envision Claude Puel’s men halting the Burnley steam train at this moment in time.

Prediction: Burnley 2-1 Leicester

Crystal Palace v Brighton

Crystal Palace head into Saturday’s clash with Brighton desperate for a pivotal win that could open up a gap between the club and the relegation zone. The only problem is Roy Hodgson’s men are both out of form, with one win in 10, and out of luck. The Eagles have suffered three straight defeats on home soil, however they do face a Brighton side winless in nine games on the road. This one has a draw splattered all over it.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-1 Brighton

Huddersfield v Watford

Relegation-threatened Huddersfield have a tricky run-in, meaning this simply is a must win for David Wagner’s men. The Terriers are in pretty dire form - no wins in five matches - but they face a travel-shy Watford who have registered one point from their last nine away games, while they suffered a shock 4-1 defeat at home to Huddersfield back in December.

Prediction: Huddersfield 2-1 Watford

Swansea v Everton

Swansea have gone off the boil since early March, having picked up just two points from their last four games. As a result there’s a gap of just four points between the Swans and the bottom three. On Saturday Carlos Carvalhal will be bidding to get his troops back to winning ways against an Everton side already on the beach. It’s unlikely to be a classic clash but we’re backing the hosts to edge it and in the process boost their survival hopes.

Prediction: Swansea 1-0 Everton

Burton v Derby

Two teams with contrasting end of season goals lock horns at the Pirelli Stadium. Burton, winless in nine, are stuck to the bottom of the table, seven points adrift of safety with four games to go. Meanwhile, Derby are bidding to win promotion up to the Premier League via the play-offs, although their wobbly form of late means their place in the top-6 is now under real threat. The Rams have struggled for wins on the road in 2018, but we fancy Gary Rowett’s men to carve out the win against a confidence-crushed Burton.

Burton 0-1 Derby

Norwich v Cardiff

Cardiff ended March with victory over Burton which extended their stunning winning streak to eight games. However, they were then held at Sheffield United, before slumping to consecutive defeats to promotion rivals Wolves and Aston Villa. Neil Warnock will be desperate to end this mini blip with a victory at mid-table Norwich, who have a decent record at home to the Bluebirds, winning nine of the last 13 games at Carrow Road.

Prediction: Norwich 1-1 Cardiff
