Cardiff City v Bristol City Team News: Neil Warnock Makes Five Changes For Severnside Derby
11:20, 25 Feb 2018

Neil Warnock's Cardiff City can pull four points clear of third-placed Aston Villa in the Championship with a win against sixth-placed Bristol City on Sunday, and the veteran manager has made five changes to his side for the Severnside Derby, which kicks off at 12pm.

Four wins in their last five matches has seen the Bluebirds storm into the automatic promotion places, and with leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers losing to Fulham last night, a win for the Welsh side will see them pull within six points of Wolves, but in Bristol City they will face a tough side, who have been one of the surprise packages this season, and are looking to build on three draws in their last three matches, and aiming to gain bragging rights what is always a fiercely-contested clash.

Warnock welcomes back Gary Madine, Liam Feeney, Callum Paterson, Joe Bennett and Greg Halford into his starting XI, as he looks to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat to Bristol City at Ashton Gate earlier in the season, but the Bluebirds are one of the form sides in the division, and will fancy their chances of continuing their fine recent run.

Lee Johnson saw his Bristol City side draw 1-1 with Fulham in midweek, and has made two changes to his starting line-up with Lois Diony and Joe Bryan coming in for Ryan Kent and Jamie Paterson, while Gary O'Neil will return to the squad having been on the sidelines for several months, as he looks to make his mark on a squad striving for a play-off place at the end of the season.
