The quarter-final draw for the UEFA Champions League has been made and it has thrown up some spectacular ties as Europe's premier club competition reaches the business end.
14-time winners Real Madrid's reward for comprehensively knocking out last year's finalists Liverpool over two legs is a tie against Chelsea. Graham Potter said this week he wanted to win the Champions League with Chelsea, but if the Blues are to achieve that goal, they will have to get past the holders. The Blues put on a brilliant display against Borussia Dortmund at Stamford Bridge to overturn a one goal deficit and Potter will hope the winning form continues in Europe. It's arguably the tie of the round, and the toughest the Blues could have hoped for.
Meanwhile Pep Guardiola's Manchester City continue their relentless hunt for a Champions League trophy. Erling Haaland made football look simple as he scored five against RB Leipzig and the Norwegian will hope to put Bayern Munich to the sword as City attempt to reach the final four again. This competition is so important for Guardiola, who hasn't won it since 2011 with that brilliant Barcelona side and Lionel Messi. He will now face his former club Bayern Munich, who looked so impressive when they dumped out PSG in the last 16.
The Italian clubs, Serie A leaders Napoli and the two Milan clubs have a real chance to make it to the Champions League final. Inter Milan have been drawn against Benfica, the surprise package of this tournament, in a tie that features two of the outsiders. Meanwhile AC Milan face Napoli in an all Serie-A quarter-final clash.
The semi-final draw was also completed and now we can plot each team's route to the final. The winner of AC Milan v Napoli will face Benfica or Inter Milan in the kinder half of the draw. Meanwhile, the winner of Man City v Bayern Munich will have to beat Chelsea or Real Madrid to make it to the final. That means one of the Italian clubs, or Benfica, will feature in the Champions League final in Istanbul.
