The Champions League’s round of 16 comes to a close this week with four more second-leg ties to navigate on Tuesday and Wednesday. We’ve got some excellent games to look forward to and we've compiled some stats to help you find value in the betting market.
Porto vs Inter Milan (agg: 0-1)
When: Tuesday 14th March
Kick-Off: 8pm
Where: Estadio do Dragao
TV: BT Sport 2
Porto (8/5) are unbeaten at home in Europe against Italian sides since losing to Juventus in 2017. They’ve beaten Juve, Roma, AC Milan and Lazio in that time. Inter Milan (8/5) meanwhile have won just one of their last eight away to Portuguese sides in European competition.
The Nerazzurri have progressed from four of their five two-legged Champions League knockout ties when they’ve won the first leg, while Porto have been eliminated from six out of seven when they’ve lost.
Man City vs RB Leipzig (agg: 1-1)
When: Tuesday 14th March
Kick-Off: 8pm
Where: Etihad Stadium
TV: BT Sport 1
Man City (1/3) have won nine home games in a row against German sides, scoring at least two goals in each, and are unbeaten in their last 23 at the Etihad in the Champions League, winning 21. Should they avoid defeat they will equal Arsenal’s record of 24 unbeaten between 2004 and 2009.
RB Leipzig (15/2) are unbeaten in five in the Champions League, their longest streak since they reached the semi-finals in 2019/20 (Seven).
Napoli vs Eintracht Frankfurt (agg: 2-0)
When: Wednesday 15th March
Kick-Off: 8pm
Where: Stadio Diego Armando Maradona
TV: BT Sport 2
Napoli (1/2) have been scoring for fun in the Champions League this season, with only Liverpool able to keep them out so far. Gli Azzurri have scored a whopping 22 goals in the competition so far. They look good value to increase that tally on home soil against an Eintracht Frankfurt (5/1) side who have only kept to clean sheets in two of seven UCL games this term, conceding ten.
The German outfit have only won one of their last five in all competitions, losing three, while Serie A leaders Napoli have won eight of their last ten.
Real Madrid vs Liverpool (agg: 5-2)
When: Wednesday 15th March
Kick-Off: 8pm
Where: Santiago Bernabeu
TV: BT Sport 1
Liverpool (13/8) have quite the mountain to climb against Real Madrid (13/10) at the Bernabeu. The Reds haven’t beaten the Spanish giants in their last seven meetings, losing all but one of those by an aggregate score of 16-4.
Mo Salah missed a penalty in Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth at the weekend, but the Egyptian forward still has five goals and four assists in his last seven games in all competitions and 33 goal involvements in 38 this season.
