Chelsea Want World Cup Star To Ease Goal Scoring Woes

Maurizio Sarri’s hunt for a goalscorer has been well-documented as he does not believe any of his current forwards provide quite the right threat for his side. Chelsea have struggled for goals of late, trying Eden Hazard in a false nine role and also giving Alvaro Morata a game here and there as they look for a concrete solution to their poor conversion rate in the final third.

Olivier Giroud is on his way back from injury but he is not the reliable goalscorer Chelsea need, instead viewed as an impact substitute by the Blues’ staff. Callum Wilson has been a much talked about transfer but Bournemouth are refusing to let him go without a fight and whilst Christian Pulisic has been signed for big money, the winger will not arrive until summer.

Chelsea are keen to get a fresh face in this month to strengthen their attack and give them a few more options as they compete in three competitions until the end of the season. They have turned their attention to another youngster shining in Europe, World Cup star Hirving Lozano.

The PSV man can play across a front three and is pacy and dynamic with an eye for goal. He showed his quality for Mexico in Russia during the World Cup and caused all sorts of problems for opposing defenders. It is thought Chelsea are lining up a bid of £36m as they look to add some excitement to their attack and on a more negative note, have ready-made replacements for Eden Hazard, who could still join Real Madrid in summer.
