Chelsea's N'Golo Kante Agrees Contract Terms With PSG

N’Golo Kante was one of the stars of the French national team’s victorious World Cup summer and it may have secured him a move away from his club Chelsea.

Ligue 1 giants PSG are reportedly making an effort to secure a deal for the tenacious midfield runner.

Le Parisien reports that Kante’s has agreed a “provisional contract” with the French champions via his representatives.

The same outlet reports that the two clubs are now in “advanced negotiations” over a move for the 27-year-old, who was named the Premier League player of the season in 2017.

While this might all sound very promising from the point of view of the French side there are a couple of stumbling blocks to the deal according to other reports in the press across the channel.

L’Equipe report this morning that the free-spending PSG board have been hit with the realities of FFP restrictions and will have to raise €100M this summer's with sales before being able to countenance any more additions.

With the player quoted as being valued at €110M by the same reports, a deal does seem to be a string of outgoings at the Parc des Princes away from happening. Kante, for his part, has reportedly told the board that he will not force their hand and push for a move back to France.

Losing the linchpin of his midfield is the last thing that the new Blues manager Maurizio Sarri needs, with Eden Hazard and Willian both reportedly keen on an exit with Barcelona and Real Madrid circling.

He might, despite the provisional contract agreement that Kante's agents have reportedly agreed to, be able to hold onto the Frenchman, if not his teammates.
