Chelsea's Willian Dampens Manchester United And Barcelona Hopes By Declaring Love For London

Willian has dampened the hopes of a reunion with former coach Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, or a move to the Nou Camp, by stating his love for the city of London and his content at current club Chelsea.

In the form of his life this campaign, netting on 14 occasions and providing seven assists, the forward is fast approaching his 30th birthday but shows no signs of slowing done nor seeking a fresh challenge.

“I like the Premier League. I like Chelsea. My dream was to come here to play for Chelsea so it’s a dream come true” he said. “For me the Premier League is the best league in the world. And London is a great city. My family love to live here. After Brazil, London is my favourite city. I love to live here.” it was confirmed.

By that, there was most probably a reference to the bustling megalopolis of São Paulo, which Willian grew up some 30 miles from in the rural town of Ribeirão Pires before being spotted by one of the biggest clubs in the area, the country for that matter, in Corinthians.

As well as shining in the Premier League, where he has twice been crowned champion over a successful five year spell, he has also become a regular for the Seleção national team and continually hands coach Tite a welcomed headache over whether who to drop among himself, Philippe Coutinho and Juventus’ Douglas Costa – impressive this week against Real Madrid after the Italians mounted a heroic comeback from three goals down in the tie only to be thwarted in controversial circumstances.

Asked to explain yet another poor defence of a Premier League title by the Blues, Willian was without answers. “There's no reason why. It's football. We have been unlucky. We are doing the exact same job as we did last season. But football is like that.” he stated, before drilling home the importance of salvaging an otherwise lost 2017/2018 by lifting the FA Cup next month and promising that his team will be “back stronger to try to win again.”
