Chris Gayle Wows Fans With A Jaw-Dropping Slip Catch In The Global T20 Canada League

Chris Gayle produced a quite sensational piece of fielding in the Global T20 Canada Cricket League as he contorted his body to take a wonderful catch at slip in his latest match for the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Gayle thrives on the nickname 'Universal Boss' and he has built a quite sensational career on the back of explosive performances with the bat, particularly in the various Twenty20 leagues around in the world, although he has never appeared to be too keen on fielding... until now.

Naturally, Gayle exudes cool with whatever he puts his hand to on the cricket field and he has often take a laid back approach to his field. Jonty Rhodes looking to effect run outs he is not. However, the 38-year-old rolled back the years when fielding at slip for Vancouver Whitecaps against West Indies B as he took an absolute blinder off the bowling of Fawad Ahmed to dismiss Kavem Hodge for 15.

Gayle dived to his left to take a one handed catch but the ball popped out and the chance seemed to be gone... However, Gayle managed to contort his body and bring his right hand round to complete a jaw-dropping catch. It is a catch that has to be seen to be believed and you can see Gayle in all his glory below.

The Whitecaps went on to win the match by seven wickets, although Gayle only managed to score two runs as his fallow run in the GT20 continued. Gayle has scored just 144 runs at an average of 20.57 in eight matches so far, although he will no doubt be reminding people of his catch for years to come...
