Conor McGregor Is Back! Notorious Launches Scathing Verbal Attack On Khabib Nurmagomedov During UFC 229 Press Conference

Conor McGregor may at times represent a marmite figure in the world of sport and entertainment, but there’s no doubting his credentials as a born showman.

The Irish megastar made his eagerly anticipated UFC return on Thursday night in the form of a New York press conference - his bread and butter - for his upcoming fight against UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, which takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on October 6.

The UFC 229 press conference, which bizarrely took place with no fans present, did not disappoint despite the lack of atmosphere, as The Notorious launched into a trademark verbal assault on his fierce rival, firing a plethora of scathing shots at his opponent, while he also used the platform to promote his new venture: Proper Twelve Whiskey, which is a sponsor for the fight.

McGregor celebrated the sponsorship by sharing a toast with UFC President Dana White aka “The OG of the fight game”.

He also offered Khabib, who just so happened to be celebrating his birthday, a taster and reacted to the subsequent rejection in typical McGregor fashion:

“I’d say you’re some buzz at parties you mad backwards c***!”

McGregor would label his rival a “weasel” and a “rat”, talk about the bus incident controversy, how he’s going to spark Khabib out in round one, and his love of the fight game - check out some of the best bits in the video below.

It’s also been revealed that McGregor has penned a whopping six-fight deal with the company so you can expect more of the above for at least another few years!
