It may be almost time for the World Cup, but the transfer market remains in full swing. What follows is a look at the rumours as reported in Thursday’s Italian sports newspapers.
Inter continue to be keen on Tottenham midfielder Moussa Dembele, and are now said to be willing to offer Joao Mario as part of the deal, in order to keep the cash price down. Inter are subject to FFP stipulations and are said to be willing to let go of the Portuguese attacker who was on loan at West Ham last term.
“It would be pointless to go back to Appiano Gentile [Inter’s training ground], even if I have a contract until 2021,” the 25-year-old revealed to La Gazzetta dello Sport in a recent interview. “I hope we can find a solution as soon as possible, maybe even before the end of the World Cup. In football, as in life, one must be honest in understanding when things end. And with Inter it's over.
“I’m evaluating things and the Premier League would be ideal, it’s a spectacular environment; a physical and technical competition at the same time.”
The Nerazzurri paid €40 million plus €5 million in bonuses for the player only last summer, but it is clear from his comments that he has no desire to return to San Siro.
West Ham and Chelsea in for Felipe Anderson - Corriere dello Sport
Brazilian attacker Felipe Anderson will certainly be sold by Lazio this summer, Italian newspapers suggest, with the coming days crucial in resolving the transfer. West Ham are already said to have offered €25 million plus €5 million in bonus payments, but Thursday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport suggests that Chelsea could beat that fee as they come in with a bid of €40 million.
