Monday 3rd October marks the 30th anniversary of the first ever Premier League Goal of the Season being scored, as the late Dalian Atkinson bagged for Aston Villa against Wimbledon.

In commemoration, we have decided to go back and take a look at all of the 30 Goal of the Season winners in Premier League history.

1992-93 - Dalian Atkinson (Aston Villa against Wimbledon)

Having picked up the ball in his own half, Atkinson drove the ball forward, beating two opponents, one of them twice, before releasing a delightful chip over the goalkeeper from 25 yards.

1993-94 - Rod Wallace (Leeds United against Tottenham Hotspur)

After magically getting himself out of a tight situation on the left flank, Wallace worked his way towards the box and dispatched a lovely curled effort into the far corner.

1994-95 - Matt Le Tissier (Southampton against Blackburn Rovers)

Le Tissier was a scorer of many fine goals and this one was no exception. After receiving the ball just inside the opponent's half, he weaved in and out to confuse a defender before firing a rocket of a shot from distance into the top corner.

1995-96 - Tony Yeboah (Leeds United against Wimbledon)

Dubbed ‘Yegoala’, this one was started with an expertly controlled chest of the ball down, then a skilful flick away from a defender, and completed with a thunderbolt into the roof of the net via the crossbar. It's one you have to watch again and again.

1996-97 - David Beckham (Manchester United against Wimbledon)

This halfway line stunner is still watched in awe to this day. Beckham saw the goalkeeper off his line and tried his luck - the rest his history.

1997-98 - Dennis Bergkamp (Arsenal against Leicester City)

The Dutchman had great control of a football, as shown here. He takes the ball down perfectly with his right foot, flicks it away from a defender with his left before firing past the goalkeeper to complete a hat-trick.

1998-99 - Muzzy Izzet (Leicester City against Tottenham Hotspur)

This strike was a superb volley from outside the box. The ball was cleared following a set-piece and dropped kindly for Izzet who cannoned his effort into the top corner.

1999-00 - Paolo Di Canio (West Ham United against Wimbledon)

Di Canio’s most iconic strike in the Premier League. He had a lot of work to do to control a long cross-field ball, but instead of taking a touch, he went for the spectacular with an audacious scissor kick from the left side of the box which sailed into the far corner.

2000-01 - Shaun Bartlett (Charlton Athletic against Leicester City)

This volley was simply breathtaking. Almost identical to the one Robin van Persie scored for Manchester United more than a decade later against Aston Villa, Bartlett must have been the Dutchman's inspiration.

2001-02 - Dennis Bergkamp (Arsenal against Newcastle United)

For this iconic goal, Bergkamp gracefully flicked the ball in from Robert Pires past his defender before spinning round and coolly slotting the ball into the bottom corner. It is one of the most skilful goals ever seen in the top-flight of English football.

2002-03 - Thierry Henry (Arsenal against Tottenham Hotspur)

Henry was a spectacular footballer, as seen with this stunning solo goal. The French wizard carried the ball from his own half all the way up the pitch, toying with defenders, before hitting the back of the net with his shot.

2003-04 - Dietmar Hamann (Liverpool against Portsmouth)

This ferocious volley was an absolute beauty. The German was picked out with a cross from Michael Owen and he struck the ball first time as it soared into the top corner.

2004-05 - Patrik Berger (Portsmouth against Charlton)

What a goal this was! Berger flicked the ball up from a short free-kick with his back to goal and rifled the ball into the back of the net.

2005-06 - Matt Taylor (Portsmouth against Sunderland)

Taylor scored some fine goals in his career and this one was outstanding. From 40-yards out, he struck a bouncing ball and sent it flying over the goalkeeper and into the goal.

2006-07 - Wayne Rooney (Manchester United against Bolton Wanderers)

A beautiful counter-attack. Rooney combined brilliantly with Cristiano Ronaldo and finished off a slick move with a delightful chip over Jussi Jaaskelainen.

2007-08 - Emmanuel Adebayor (Arsenal against Tottenham Hotspur)

Adebayor hit this brilliant volley in the North London derby after flicking up the ball following a Cesc Fabregas pass. On the swivel he cannoned his effort into the top corner.

2008-09 - Glen Johnson (Portsmouth against Hull City)

Johnson picked up a loose clearance on the bounce, chested it down before hitting a sweet strike that sailed into the top corner. A truly magnificent goal.

2009-10 - Maynor Figueroa (Wigan Athletic against Stoke City)

After receiving a free-kick in his own half, Figueroa reacted quickly after seeing the goalkeeper off his line and his long-range kick flew into the back of the net.

2010-11 - Wayne Rooney (Manchester United against Manchester City)

Given the context of this match, Rooney’s bicycle kick is iconic. But seeing as the ball wasn’t hit cleanly, coming off his shin, it dampens just how special this goal could’ve been.

2011-12 - Papiss Cisse (Newcastle United against Chelsea)

This goal defied physics. From a throw-in, Cisse received the ball from a chest pass. He decided to let rip on a wonderfully sliced effort that saw Petr Cech caught off guard and the ball just glides until it nestles in the far corner.

2012-13 - Robin van Persie (Manchester United against Aston Villa)

As mentioned earlier, we feel the Dutchman channelled his inner Shaun Bartlett for this stunning volley. It summed up his goalscoring capabilities.

2013-14 - Jack Wilshere (Arsenal against Norwich City)

This may not be a stunning strike, but the build-up is legendary. After some intricate passing and fancy flicks between Wilshere and Olivier Giroud, the former beat the offside trap and coolly finished what was an iconic attacking piece of play.

2014-15 - Jack Wilshere (Arsenal against West Bromwich Albion)

This was a great volley from outside the box that soared into the top-right corner as Wilshere was set-up perfectly for the strike by Gabriel Paulista. The only back-to-back winner on this list.

2015-16 - Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur against Crystal Palace)

It feels like a lifetime ago since we saw Alli produce moments like this. After receiving the ball from a headed pass, he controlled the ball, flicked it over a defender’s head on the turn and volleyed his effort into the bottom corner.

2016-17 - Emre Can (Liverpool against Watford)

The German midfielder made a well-timed run into the box to meet Lucas Leiva’s deep ball in, falling back to pull off an excellent bicycle kick that soared into the top corner.

2017-18 - Sofiane Boufal (Southampton against West Bromwich Albion)

The winger carried the ball from his own half, beating a sea of Albion players along the way before slotting the ball into the bottom corner to score a scintillating solo goal.

2018-19 - Andros Townsend (Crystal Palace against Manchester City)

This is one of the best volleys you will ever see. From outside the box a loose ball dropped and Townsend rushed in and struck it sweetly with pace and precision as it glided into the top corner.

2019-20 - Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur against Burnley)

This was another fantastic solo goal in which Son did similar to the aforementioned Boufal in driving the ball forward, beating players before finding the back of the net.

2020-21 - Erik Lamela (Tottenham Hotspur against Arsenal)

The Argentine always loved to score rabonas and he was able to tick one off in the North London derby. The biggest injustice about this goal was that there wasn’t a crowd to witness it due to Covid-19.

2021-22 - Mohamed Salah (Liverpool against Manchester City)

This goal was sublime. It was magical from Salah from a difficult situation as he managed to get himself out of it, taking two players out of the game. He then went on to beat two more, cutting into the area and scoring from a tight angle with his weaker right foot.
