Daniel Dubois Sets Up Potential Nathan Gorman Clash After Brutal Razvan Cojanu Knockout

We could be in for one of the fights of the year if Daniel Dubois and Nathan Gorman meet, as expected, later this year. Gorman was ringside to see Dubois savagely knock out Razvan Gorman in just two rounds after a dominant display took his record to 10-0. The heavyweight division is packed full of quality at this moment in time and although the top guns such as Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua may be avoiding each other, some of the hottest rising stars look to be set for a titanic clash.

DDD put together a brilliant combination of punches to take out Cojanu, a man who has a decent record himself and could have provided a tough test for the youngster. Gorman meanwhile, takes on Fabio Maldonado at the end of this month in Leicester in a bout that should test the 22-year-old Brit. Maldonado has lost just once in 27 fights and if Gorman can get past him, it should take him to the next level.

Meanwhile, on the same night, fellow Brit Anthony Yarde is on the verge of a world title shot after stopping Travis Reeves in five rounds. The light-heavyweight could now face Sergey Kovalev, the WBO champion after another impressive performance. It was a tough bout in which Yarde was under pressure in the early rounds, however he battled back and heaped on the pressure, which ultimately lead to a stoppage in the fifth round.

After the stoppage, Yarde said: “I believe every fight is a statement.

“I’m learning on the job. I’m making it look good, but I’m learning on the job.

“The performances are speaking for themselves. It’s not a 100m sprint, it’s a journey, it’s a career.

“Soon I think I’ll be mandatory for the WBO belt. Kovalev’s the world champion right now.

“I would take it, but you’ve got managers and promoters for a reason.”
