Dare To Dream? Bookmakers Cut Odds On Liverpool Winning The Premier League Title After Chelsea Stun Man City

Liverpool are now the only unbeaten team in England’s top-four tiers after Chelsea stunned Man City 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night.

The Reds breezed past Bournemouth earlier in the day (4-0) as they extended their unbeaten start to the season, while simultaneously equalling a club record of 17 Premier League matches without a defeat.

Due to City’s superior goal difference Pep Guardiola’s men only needed a point at Chelsea to ensure that they snatched back top spot, however it was not to be as goals from N’Golo Kante and David Luiz sealed a 2-0 win for Maurizio Sarri’s Blues who moved above Arsenal and Tottenham into third.

Liverpool, who are enjoying their best ever start to a Premier League season with 42 points from 16 matches, know that there’s still a very long way to go, 22 games to be precise, but the fact that City have now lost a game will no doubt give the Merseysiders a huge confidence boost as they venture into the hectic festive period.

City remain the odds-on 1/3 favourites to become the first club to win back-to-back English titles in 10 years, however there’s been a significant move behind them in the betting, as Liverpool have been cut from 4/1 to 5/2 to lift the Premier League trophy for the first time. Meanwhile, Chelsea range from 20/1 to 66/1, while Spurs are 40/1, and Arsenal 80/1.

Liverpool will have to nudge the Premier League out of their thought process for the next few days, as the focus is on Tuesday’s crunch Champions League clash at home to Napoli, a game they must win in order to have any hope or reaching the knockout stages.
