Deontay Wilder has confirmed to BBC Sport that he will fight Tyson Fury this year, in either November or December: "The fight definitely will happen."
“Fury has to win tomorrow night and look good." he told BBC journalists at the weigh-in ahead of Fury’s fight tomorrow night v Francesco Pianeta. Wilder had crashed the weigh-in and come face-to-face with Fury’s father, John, as the two men shouted in each other's faces, sparking controversy at the event.
Meanwhile, the American Boxer’s manager, Shelly Finkel confirmed that the fight will be in "November or December in New York or Las Vegas". If Fury, as expected comes through tomorrow’s fight unscathed it will all be set up for this clash between two giants of the boxing world.
Of course, Tyson Fury put in his best ever performance away from home when he beat Wladimir Klitschko in a unanimous decision in Dusseldorf. That was the fight that made Fury the WBA, WBO & IBO champions but a tough period meant he was forced to give up those belts.
He is now back in the ring and looks to continue his unbeaten record against Pianeta in Manchester on Saturday night. If he comes through that then we will be in for months and months of this hype for when a date is officially announced. We cannot wait for this one as Fury looks to win back all of his belts and prove that he is the number one Heavyweight in the world.
