Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has revealed Antoine Griezmann will be allowed to leave the club.
The French forward was rumoured to be close to departing the Spanish side in the summer but a transfer ban for Atletico led to the player staying put in Madrid.
Barcelona and Manchester United are reportedly the two sides vying for his signature, while Paris St Germain may also be in the mix.
Griezmann is expected to stay at Atletico until the end of the season with his departure likely to come in the summer, although, clubs will have to act fast with the 2018 World Cup in Russia taking place from June to July.
Simeone was speaking to L’Equipe when he admitted the 26-year-old could follow in the footsteps of Diego Costa and Arda Turan by leaving Atletico.
"Of course Griezmann will be able to leave at some point, the same way (Diego) Costa and Arda Turan were allowed to leave," said Simeone.
"I love my players a lot and I love to see them grow. I am not ungrateful.
"If a player comes to me and says: 'Coach, I have a once in a lifetime chance to play for a certain team, I want to leave'.
"If he did all he could for me as Griezmann does, I'll say it's no problem. I know that he needs to grow."
Griezmann is yet to find his best form this season but he’s still managed seven goals and five assists in 18 appearances in all competitions.
The striker was unable to prevent his side from crashing out the Group Stages of the Champions League, however, Atletico are only six points behind Barcelona in the race for the La Liga title.
He netted 26 goals in 53 appearances for Atletico during the 2016/17 campaign, as Simeone’s side finishing third in the league and made it to the semi-finals of both the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.
