Dillian Whyte Defeats Dereck Chisora With Stunning 11th Round KO Blow

Dillian Whyte produced a stunning knockout blow to defeat Dereck Chisora in an epic heavyweight boxing bout at the O2 Arena in London.

Chisora had actually been leading on points according to the scorecards, before Whyte produced a moment of magic in the eleventh round.

There had been plenty of animosity between the pair before the fight on Saturday night and it was Whyte who came out the quicker of the two men as he hammered a right through the guard of Chisora. It clearly hurt.

Chisora responded admirably though and it was clear that this was going to be a proper heavyweight boxing scrap!

There was a few low blows, elbows flying and Chisora was even deducted a point for hitting below the beltline. Make no mistake though, this was a cracking bout between two evenly matched opponents.

As Anthony Joshua, speaking on Sky Sports said: “These boys can definitely take a punch, they’re eating leather!” Thanks AJ…

Chisora, 34, had gone into the fight with a 29-8-0 win-loss-draws record, but had claimed that he was fitter this time around – with David Haye in his corner - as he prepared for another clash with Whyte, who had lost only one of his previous 25 professional bouts.

The pair had met in a brutal contest back in 2016, with Whyte winning a split decision when they met in Manchester just over two years ago. Whyte had won four bouts since and had gone into this fight as the bookmakers’ 2/7 favourite, while Chisora was a pre-fight 5/2.

There was no doubt that Chisora looked much sharper this time around as he took the fight to Whyte, who looked surprised by the approach of his opponent.

However, Whyte remained unruffled and produced a stunning one-punch knockout in the eleventh round to claim victory. There were concerns about Chisora at first but he staggered ungainly to his feet and appeared to be okay.

It was a hugely impressive blow from Whyte though and he will now be eyeing a clash with Anthony Joshua in April. It is fair to assume that Whyte will be hell-bent on revenge as Joshua inflicted the only defeat of Whyte’s professional career, back in 2015.
