David De Gea looks set to sign for PSG next summer at the end of his contract in a deal that will make him the highest paid goalkeeper in the world.
The Daily Mail are reporting that an agreement between the player and the French champions is close to being finalised with the Spanish stopper looking to move on from the beleaguered Old Trafford club.
The former Atletico goalkeeper has been a superstar for Manchester United in recent years but his time in the Premier League could now be up if this latest story is to be believed.
The story is suggesting that PSG are looking to sell Neymar to Real Madrid next summer in a bid to work around financial fair play restrictions and in the process build their team around Kylian Mbappe and the incoming De Gea.
The Ligue 1 team have struggled to find a consistent performer with the gloves in recent years and will no doubt see De Gea as a crucial part of the plan in their never ending bid to finally win the Champions League.
The news couldn't have come at a worse time for Man United fans following another dismal display at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday which saw the red half of Manchester fall 14 points behind their City rivals who currently sit top of the table.
De Gea will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with a club from January 1st and the suggestion is that the 28-year-old will be earning in the region of £300,000 in Paris.
Losing a key player like De Gea is a monumental blow for United but with his contract running out, they are powerless to prevent the deal being confirmed.
