Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn branded Deontay Wilder an ‘idiot’ in a stunning interview littered with expletives.

Hearn was asked about Wilder supposedly ducking the chance to fight Anthony Joshua with negotiations about a potential bout lasting for more than a year. He claimed Wilder doesn't really want to meet Joshua in the ring and is more interested in just talking about it and using Joshua to raise his own profile.

Talking to iFL TV, Hearn let rip, saying: "I’m sick and tired of those idiots out there who think he wants the fight. How stupid have you got to be to think that Deontay Wilder wants this fight - just listen to what he’s saying."

Hearn said of Wilder: "No one knows who he f****** is".

There has been speculation about a fight between Joshua and Wilder for so long that even Hearn has got fed up with it.

“Boring-boring, mate f*** off, mate you ain’t earned three million bucks," said Hearn. "You can walk up any city, any high street, any town in the world and ask anyone who Deontay Wilder is - no ones got a f****** clue.

“He ain’t even going to do 300 buys on pay-per-view - he wants 60-40, idiot.

“F****** don’t waste our time, don’t use Joshua’s name to try and gain a profile and publicity. “F****** waste of time, waste of my life, if that’s what he really thinks please don’t waste my time - I’m really f****** busy.

“I've got no time for time wasters, give me someone that wants to fight Joshua, not talk about it to try and raise there profile. It’s just so-so draining, all we do is chase, all we do is make approaches, all we do is make offers, all we do is try and have negotiations."
