England Release Epic Video Pleading For Positivity Ahead Of World Cup Opener

England get their World Cup underway against Tunisia this evening and the England players have released a video calling for the fans’ support during the tournament in Russia. Gareth Southgate and his England side are slowly turning around the negative atmosphere surrounding the England team and this is the final push heading into the tournament.

An open press day with all 23 players open for questioning to the media seemed to bridge the gap between the press and the players, whilst Gareth Southgate has impressed at every press conference, always saying the right things despite his inexperience as a national team manager.

This wave of positivity is something that the England team are keen to capitalise on. After the dismal defeat to Iceland in Euro 2016, the country could not sink any lower and it is almost a fresh start for the national team after years and years of failure. The tabloids, who attacked Raheem Sterling for his tattoo faced a serious backlash as the country realised it is not acceptable for our countries national press to try to harm England’s chances of doing well in a major tournament.

A squad of talented young players led by a man who knows his best system and starting XI, unlike the previous incumbent Roy Hodgson and you can see why the country are starting to get behind the lads. Youthful exuberance has replaced stifled players and the fear that came with putting on a Three Lions shirt seems to have evaporated.

A World Cup provides a completely different test but it is pleasing to see England moving in the right direction for once! Get behind the lads and come on England!
