Arsenal are willing to listen to offers for their forward Danny Welbeck who is eager to leave the Emirates in a bid to nail down regular football next season.
The Evening Standard reports that Welbeck, who was part of the England squad that reached the 2018 World Cup semi-finals, has been informed by the new Gunners gaffer Unai Emery that he will not be key to his plans next term, meaning he’ll have to settle for a backstage role behind the likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
However Welbeck, who has one year of his Arsenal contract remaining, could soon find himself at a new Premier League club with the likes of Everton, Southampton and Bournemouth all believed to be keen on the former Man Utd frontman.
Everton are the 7/2 favourites to snap up Welbeck. New manager Marco Silva recently splashed £40m on his former Watford player Richarlison, but now appears to be considering making a move for the 27-year-old as he looks to bolster his attacking options over on the blue half of Merseyside.
Southampton (6/1) netted only 37 goals in 38 top-flight games last term, meaning boss Mark Hughes could decide to showcase his interest in Welbeck, who has bagged a brace against the Saints in each of the last two seasons, as the Welshman the bids to mold together a more attacking outfit at St Mary's.
Southampton’s south coast rivals Bournemouth are also reportedly keen on securing Welbeck’s services. The forward scored five goals in 28 league appearances last term, but would no doubt bag more starts with the Cherries, while Newcastle and Besiktas are two other possible destinations ahead of Deadline Day this Thursday.
