Everything You Need To Know About David Benavidez Vs Demetrius Andrade

How to watch the WBC interim championship clash
10:00, 20 Nov 2023

Boxing matches don’t come much more finely poised than this. On Saturday night, unbeaten stars David Benavidez and Demetrius Andrade will clash in Las Vegas. The WBC interim super middleweight championship that will be up for grabs doesn’t do this excellent piece of matchmaking justice.

Both men are former world champions who never lost their titles in the ring. Benavidez was twice stripped of the WBC main title, once for failing a drugs test and once on the scales. Meanwhile, Andrade was the WBA light middleweight kingpin before moving up to capture the WBO middleweight belt. He relinquished that gold to campaign at super middleweight. The belt on the line here may be of the interim variety, but the winner will be in line to fight full champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in a mouthwatering contest.

The undercard is positively loaded for this Vegas showdown. WBC middleweight boss Jermall Charlo blows the rust off after two years on the shelf. He’ll face Jose Benavidez Jr in a non-title ten-rounder. There’s a pair of further world title fights too. Subriel Matas faces the undefeated Shohjahon Ergashev for the IBF light welterweight strap. WBA super featherweight boss

Hector Garcia looks to bounce back from his knockout defeat to Gervonta Davis up at lightweight. He returns to his natural division to battle Lamont Roach.
