Everything You Need To Know Ahead Of This Weekend’s Premier League Action

We've got you covered for the latest round of Premier League matches
14:30, 19 Mar 2021

The Premier League fixture list looks a little short and abnormal this weekend as there are only four games taking place owing to the FA Cup. However, with Arsenal, Tottenham and Leeds all in action, there is sure to be plenty of goals and drama.

Here’s everything you need to know…

Fulham vs Leeds

Where:  Craven Cottage

When:  Friday, March 19

Kick-off time:  8pm

TV:  Sky Sports

Fulham have won three times, twice on Merseyside at Liverpool and Everton, in their last seven matches to boost their chances of survival. Looking dead and buried at the turn of the year, Scott Parker’s side have shown plenty of character to battle back and are just two points off Newcastle in 17th.

Leeds, meanwhile, are safely sat in mid-table after holding to Chelsea to a goalless draw last weekend though Marcelo Bielsa’s men have lost four of their last six. Fulham will be confident.

Sportsman Stat: Leeds have not won any of their last 16 away games in London, last beating QPR in December 2017. The Yorkshire club have drawn twice and lost 14 during the winless run in the capital

Betfred odds: Leeds striker Patrick Bamford is 4/1 to net the opening goal

Brighton vs Newcastle

Where: Amex Stadium

When: Saturday, March 20

Kick-off time: 8pm

TV: Sky Sports

With Fulham on the hunt to get out of the relegation zone, this match-up is the definition of a six-pointer as 16th-placed Brighton take on Newcastle in 17th. Defeat for either could see them fall into the drop zone with nine games to play.

While Brighton earned a vital three points at Southampton on Sunday, Steve Bruce’s men last tasted victory against the Saints too, though it was back on February 6. This game is huge with the reality of relegation stirring both clubs down.

Sportsman Stat: The Seagulls are looking to secure a first league double over the Magpies since the 1978-79 campaign.

Betfred odds: Newcastle defender Jamal Lascelles, who has two goals in his last three matches, is 28/1 to strike first in this one

West Ham vs Arsenal

Where: London Stadium

When: Sunday, March 21

Kick-off time: 3pm

TV: Sky Sports

It’s roles reversed in north and east London for this one. For a change, it is Arsenal stuck in mid-table mediocrity as West Ham bid for the top four. Seven points separate the two sides though history suggests the Gunners will win this one – Arsenal have done the double over the Hammers eleven times in the Premier League era.

However, things are different in the 2020-21 season and David Moyes men are strong at home boasting the second best record on their own turf, with eight wins and three draws from 14 matches.

Sportsman Stat: This is just the fourth time West Ham have faced Arsenal in the Premier League while above them in the table. The Gunners are unbeaten in the previous three – 0-0 in September 2005, 3-1 in October 2012 and 2-1 in December 2014

Betfred odds: The game to finish over 5.5 goals is at 11/1

Aston Villa vs Tottenham

Where: Villa Park

When: Sunday, March 21

Kick-off time: 7.30pm

TV: Sky Sports

Two classic Premier League teams meet at a classic stadium on Sunday evening as Spurs travel to Villa Park. Having played a game more, Tottenham are only four points ahead of the Villans and are six points off the top four. Jose Mourinho’s team have to win here to keep their faint Champions League hopes alive.

Villa, meanwhile, would prove their progress with a top-ten finish this campaign only two years after being promoted from the Championship.

Sportsman Stat: Aston Villa have lost 11 of their last 12 matches against Spurs in all competitions. The sole win came under Tim Sherwood in April 2015.

Betfred odds: Villa are 21/10 to beat Tottenham on Sunday night
