Ex-Flat Horse Tipped To Go Well Over Hurdles At Sedgefield

Ex-Flat Horse Tipped To Go Well Over Hurdles At Sedgefield
11:02, 22 Feb 2018

Following a nice place at Kempton last night we’re back digging through today’s racing.

There’s a plethora of it on offer today with jumps meetings from Sedgefield, Huntingdon and Thurles as well as flat meetings from Southwell, Chelmsford and out in Meydan.

Our first tip of the day will come from Sedgefield and their Williams Sisters Novices' Hurdle at 14:45.

The two that head the market at the time of writing, Bal De Rio and Bulkov, have had a fair few tries in this sort of event already and, with only one win out of ten combined efforts, it might be worth looking for something at a bigger price to oppose them with.

Ingleby Hollow was a fair stayer on the flat and made his start in the hurdling sphere and Doncaster last month. He showed a good deal of understanding of his new job that day, finishing fifth while not being asked to exert himself too much.

His trainer David O’Meara has a 12% strike rate with his hurdlers over the last five years and that’s not a bad number for a handler that usually handles flat horses.

The possibility remains that his stable is running him in these novice events with the ultimate aim of picking up a lowly handicap mark and that is something of a worry.

At a price of 16/1, however, we’re willing to take an each-way chance on him giving the two market principles something to think about at the very least.
